Project Runway’s most successful, and the most adorable winner, Christian Siriano showcased his Spring 2010 Collection during NYFW at Bryant Park on Sept. 12. The Mediterranean-inspired collection was beautifully presented with elegant looking models wearing his amazing pieces from very artistic gowns to fierce shoes/accessories for his Payless line.
The show wouldn’t be complete without all the hard work that goes on backstage… the makeup, the hair… for that perfect one-of-a-kind show. I can’t help but to mention how much I love the models’ overall look from this show. I especially loved the ladylike ponytails the most… created by Aveda! Let’s get this trendy style, step-by-step, straight from the runway!
This is a low, sleek ponytail adorned with a textured bouquet of waves; a play of smooth versus rough. Hair is sleek and groomed on each side of the head and through the ponytail, with a slightly rough, matte finish on top and elegant, textured waves pinned above the pony. The finished look is chic and contemporary with a bit of attitude.

I looooove mixing highs with lows for that chic effortless look, like this plain ol’ white tee worn with a glistening sequin skirt. The days are long gone when tees are just for lounging at home or a quick grocery run. You’ll be surprised at how versatile basic shirts can be when you mix & match. Smart style won’t break the bank if you mix & match!
Some of you already own several white tees or you can even borrow your boyfriend’s… but I seriously dig this totally fab Aqua Cotton Boyfriend Tee… woohoo, I’m so sold on the perfect neckline and a front pocket! Yes, gotta have that pocket! Also keep it mind that you want the shirt to be a relaxed, loose fit.
Tuck in the shirt, and ladies… go short on the skirt but high on the heels. That’s the rule! Platform heels are a great choice here. Instead of layering heavy necklaces, go for a chunky watch or danglers… let the shirt be a shirt! Last but not least, wrap your hand around a beautifully textured beaded clutch… even better with the skull on it! Going into fall, throw on a biker jacket or a boyfriend blazer… super stylish!

I’m more of a high heel gal so I often forget that sneakers can also be quite stylish. I tell you, these fashionable adidas Sambas are to-die-for! Sambas are the longest running sneaker model and still in production today since the 50’s. With the iconic football style, these old-school sneakers have returned with a vibrant pop of colors that go with any casual outfit. You know that retro sneakers are “in” right now! You will feel great & look cool, no matter what you do in them.
Along with sweats, I enjoy sneakers with cargo and a simple tank. Put on a hooded denim vest or jacket for a casual-chic look.
