5 boots to fall for from Steve Madden

Posted by Sophie on August 7, 2010

It’s already August, soon to be September and in no time we will be getting bootilicious!  There is no such thing as boot season in my book but a fashionista can’t imagine fall without owning many stylish pair of boots.  Below are 5 boot picks straight from Steve Madden’s smokin’ hot boot collection.

Sleek black boots are a fall staple.  The A-YOKO booties are truly versatile with chic chunky heels while the A-JENAY is a super sexy hybrid pair (stiletto-boots).  Like having 2 boots in 1, the CALGARRY boots can be worn as thigh-high or cuffed at the knee.  They are on sale by the way.

For boho lovers these HANSELL booties are ones to keep and the olive color gives off a lovely vintage appeal.  Last but not least, the SAREE boots are perhaps my favorite of the bunch.  Has a perfect distressed finish & rugged appeal that will look so fab with just about anything from dresses to jeans.  Also on sale.

What to wear to summer BBQs

Posted by Sophie on May 20, 2010

Wondering what to wear to your next summer BBQ including Memorial Day?  First and foremost, I have to be comfortable.  But please… leave the baggy t-shirts and ugly flip flops at home.  You can look and feel comfy without sacrificing style.

Since most BBQ’s are outdoors, go for something light & airy.  I want to feel relaxed all day so nothing like tight jeans or a belt.  Loose fitting clothes are excellent especially for pigging out by deceptively hiding the bulge at the end of the day.  I like to pop my outfit with accessories like chic wedge sandals or dangling earrings.  Skip the rings if you like to really dig into the food like me!

Romper, Wedge Sandals, Sunglasses, Bracelets

Tunic, Leggings, Wedge Sandals, Hoops

Dress, Sandals, Necklace, Nail Polish

Dress or cardigan

Posted by Sophie on May 7, 2010

This time of the year between spring & summer I get a lot of wear out of button front shirt dresses.  They are a 2-in-1 piece that you can wear as a dress or cardigan.  Can be worn as a dress with a belt over it or leave the buttons open and you have a sweet cardigan. All I need is a cute pair of sandals to go with the dress.  So simple, comfy, and casual.  As a cardigan, I wear it over leggings and a tee, something like this,

Shirt Dress, Cheetah Tank, Ruched Leggings,
Wedge Sandals, Bangles, Essie, Fragrance

Don’t you just love it when you can wear one piece in several ways?   This particular Patterson J. Kincaid Fern Belted Dress is freaking amazing!!!  Love the loose fitting and the soft, thin fabric making it a perfect lightweight cover-up which comes in so handy when freezing indoors. Plus, it comes with a detachable slip & belt!  Available in olive, Night Sky, white.

Ways to style a denim blazer

Posted by Sophie on March 10, 2010

If you are looking for perfect spring/summer outerwear, a denim jacket is a great alternative to cardigans.  Denim jackets are so easy to wear and incredibly versatile.  Gap has a smashing blazer style denim jacket – Shrunken Denim Blazer ($88) that is very cool, sexy, and sharp looking.  It can instantly dress up any pair of jeans.  Just remember to layer with a light piece when wearing a fitted jacket like this.  Here are ways to dress up a denim blazer.
