Kime Buzzelli for Beauty and Fashion

Urban Decay has teamed up with hip LA artist Kime Buzzelli to create an eyeshadow box with a punch of attitude – Urban Decay Show Pony Shadow Box!  Kime’s wicked, vivacious painting is illustrated both inside & out featuring fashionable girls that have gone buck-wild with the makeup.  Love it!  I’d buy it just for the cool packaging.

The set includes six shimmery shadows with funky names (Snatch, Painkiller, Mildew, Flash, Smog, Toasted), mini 24/7 Eye Pencil in never-fail Zero (black), and a mini genie bottle of Eyeshadow Primer Potion (keep your shadow from creasing & fading).

I wish the set had a iridescent gold or pearl for highlighting instead of two very close bronzy browns – Smog & Toasted.  My favorite color is definitely the Painkiller (blue) which is a perfect tone for fall & the holidays as illustrated in the video.  Go light on lips and cheeks.  Gorgeous!

Kime also collaborated with Vans, where you’ll find a wide range of artsy fashion from bright sneakers to a sexy bomber jacket.

Fall Essentials – Top 5

Posted by Sophie on September 2, 2009

It’s already September… woohoo!!!  That means Autumn is just around the corner.  I can’t hardly wait for this wonderful season to come.   I do enjoy the craziness of summer – the beach, ice coffee, maxi dresses… but I’m more than ready to be done with the blistering heat!  Aren’t you?

One of many reasons for my love of Autumn along with the weather change is the wardrobe.  Here are my top 5 fall essentials that are timeless yet trendy.

1.  Colorful Trench
Don’t talk about fall fashion without mentioning trenches.  The classic khaki trench is of course my ultimate favorite, but this season go for color.  The crimson/brick red is a HOT color for this fall.

2.  Asymmetric Top
Whether it’s a T-shirt or evening dress, look for asymmetric designs.  The obscure cut adds more edginess & unbalanced coolness.

3.  Vintage-Inspired Boots
You can never go wrong with vintage boots.  Worn-looking boots will look great with contemporary pieces like this gorgeous sequin dress below.

4.  Sequin Dress
It’s all about glam and sparkle this season.  Sequin dresses are a perfect choice for an evening out or holiday gatherings.

5.  Tinted Moisturizer with SPF
Lower humidity and cooler temps tends to make my skin get flaky and dull.  Get this amazing tinted moisturizer to stay dewy & glowy all season long.  It offers sheer coverage yet enough to cover up the pores.  Plus the pretty shimmer and the sun protection… a must-have multi-tasker for the on-the-go gals like us!

Longing for Autumn

I can’t hardly wait for the autumn season to come… the cool breeze, golden leaves, trench coats… all the smoldering goodness!  I’m so itching to venture outdoors once the weather cools down.  Here are lovely photos of Natalia Vodianova from the Harper’s Bazaar UK Sept. issue.  Are you eagerly awaiting autumn as well?  Click on the photo for a larger view.

Okay, I’ve got a thing for smoky eye makeup… especially in cooler weather. Here is a nice fall/winter makeup demonstration you can try easily at home. I think this makeup is totally smashing - sultry with a hint of 80’s flair. The key beauty item here is a fuchsia lip color.
