Favorite Breakfast Smoothie

I can’t think of a simpler, healthier and tastier option than a delicious smoothie for breakfast.  It provides me with essential nutrients and energy that I need to kick start the day.  I use a variety of ingredients ~ fruits & veggies ~ to enjoy the different health benefits and taste from each smoothie.

The main ingredient that I always include in my smoothies is protein powder as it is my main source of protein.  I only get organic vegetarian/vegan protein powder which is easy to digest, light, nutritious, safe and of course tasty.  The latest protein supplement I’m enjoying is The Organic Protein Smoothie from Purity Products formulated with organic brown rice protein which is my favorite form of protein by far.

I love how the powder is super easy to blend (not grainy).  It’s easy on my digestive system while filling.  The only minus is the slight aftertaste.  People just love the taste of sweet even when it comes to protein powders.  But the aftertaste pretty much disappears when mixed with other sweets and veggies.

You can just use water or your favorite kind of milk to make a simple shake but there is nothing quite as filling and satisfying as a hearty smoothie.  Here is one of my favorite smoothie recipes.  It’s perfect for breakfast or as a post-workout smoothie.  Enjoy!!

1 avocado
1/2 Apple
1 banana
1 tsp chia seeds
2 cups coconut milk (or almond milk)
