Going Retro-Chic

There is something really feminine and demure about retro fashion. It’s not surprising why some of the most chic fashion moments are from the retro era especially in the 50s & 60s which are my favorite fashion decades!

Scouring at local vintage stores is more fun than visiting boring malls, but I find a better overall shopping experience with online shops.  The above dresses are from Stop Staring! where you can find a load of sweet vintage-inspired dresses.  I find them SEXY especially the dresses in a slender, pencil silhouette.

If you don’t want to go full retro, you can easily add a little hint of vintage to your look with accessories such as gloves, kitten heels, cat eye sunglasses, cloche hats, brooches,.. etc.  You can also mix & match different styles to create an interesting, unique outfit of your own.  I usually pair a retro dress with an edgy spiked leather jacket or unexpected accessories like a sleek briefcase.  There are endless ways to incorporate vintage/retro into your wardrobe.

I personally adore the 60’s mini skirt and the saddle shoes which I enjoy wearing even today.  And remember, fashion goes in cycles!
