From this years Golden Globes, there were a few looks that stood out to me – in a good way. The rest are not even worth mentioning (nor do I have the time to). So here are 5 style winners along with my fantasy red carpet ensemble.
Kate Hudson in Alexander McQueen. This is one slim-tastic frock! The long sleeves are ultra sexy along with the keyhole cutout. It’s the best of Kate’s looks by far. Even her hair! A plain black belt would be a better choice, no?
Claire Danes in Versace. No tacky bling, only the exquisite red dress. Way to go Claire! But the hair is not so amazing.
Jessica Alba in Oscar de la Renta. Her skin tone and hair color suit perfectly against the bright melon gown, which is not the easiest color to pull off. Gorgeous! This look makes me wanna get a tan and don orange lips. The only negative is the necklace – what a distraction for such a sexy decollete. A set of danglers or a simpler necklace would have been much sweeter.
Sally Field in Alberta Ferretti. If the dress is in black, it wouldn’t be as flattering as this navy chiffon. Her updo hair, makeup and the necklace all team well with the dress.
Kristen Wiig in Michael Kors. What a cool look (literally) for the red carpet! I absolutely dig this minimal style. Perhaps too easy, but that’s the whole point. This LBD is my favorite of all the five dresses.
Here is an “in-my-dreams” red carpet look. Sally’s dress inspired me to pick this midnight blue chiffon dress. The color in itself is stunning. And as always, add a cool accessory or two to up the edge a bit.
Since most goodies above are far out of reach from my budget range (what’s new), I’m going to scour for similar party dresses at ASOS or Nordstrom to name a few. And for you curvy ladies you might want to browse the party dresses by Simply Be for affordable options as well.
