Elizabeth Taylor. Ohhh, what a timeless beauty! I remember my grandmother mentioning her name often while growing up, and it’s easy to see why. Her beauty is incomparable. It’s hard for me not to gawk at her stunning face simply out of sheer admiration. I really enjoy some of the old Hollywood movies in particular ones with Liz in them.
She’s one of those few with a long lasting legacy. There will be a movie about her called Liz & Dick which will be airing this month on the 25th at 9pm ET on Lifetime. I just wonder though how Lindsay Lohan pulled this off (she plays Elizabeth). Well, asking any actress to resurrect the infamous Liz has to be big shoes to fill no question. Just the face alone would be a challenge. Seriously, bring me an actress who is as drop-dead-gorgeous as she was!
Elizabeth reigned during my absolute favorite fashion eras in the 50’s & 60’s. There are many photos of Liz in classic swing dresses and skirts. Very feminine & nostalgic indeed. Here I have created a contemporary version of old Hollywood elegance – with a bit of an edge. How about an up-do hairstyle to up the retro feel?
You can pull off this retro-inspired look easily with a flared or swing style skirt. The shape works for anyone since it flares at the waist. Platform mary janes and oversized sunglasses enhance the retro style even more while the biker jacket gives the whole ensemble an edge. Go for a chic red lip shade for pouts like Liz – at least pretend. Last but not least, get yourself a big bling ring! Elizabeth is known for her love of diamonds. Have you seen her ginormous wedding ring? CZ ring it is for me as I am frugal. I can totally picture young Liz donning this look! What cha think about this outfit?
Lindsay Lohan stars as the legendary dame Elizabeth Taylor alongside Grant Bowler as celebrated actor Richard Burton in the Lifetime Original Movie Liz & Dick, making its world premiere Sunday, November 25, at 9pm ET on Lifetime. Based on the true story of the couple’s passionate and tumultuous love affair Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were Hollywood royalty and their fiery romance — often called “the marriage of the century” — was the most notorious, publicized and celebrated love affair of its day. http://www.mylifetime.com/movies/liz-and-dick
