There’s nothing like rewarding yourself after a hard day with good food, lol! I didn’t like to cook when I was younger but now I actually really enjoy it. So, what’s for dinner? I always reach for the iPad to answer that question.
I have found some of the best recipes through online searches and recipe apps – healthy recipes that are also delicious! There are so many advantages to using apps instead of traditional cookbooks or thumbing through magazines (I love that it’s paperless to begin with!).
As with so many aspects of life, technology plays a huge role in regards to my healthy living and overall food choices. It simplifies everything in terms of organization and making smart decisions when it comes to meal planning. From quick-fix meals to organic foods, there are literally endless options at my fingertips – readily available just with a simple swipe on a smart phone or tablet. And of course, every ingredient is kept nice & fresh in my GE refrigerator.
Last night for example I made this oh-so-tasty “olive oil baked shrimp” which I saved under “must-try recipes” a while back. Mmmmmm, mouthwatering… seriously, this was one of the best shrimp dishes I’ve ever prepared! It went great with whole grain pasta. I also love the fact that I can share the recipe with the masses in a matter of seconds by tweeting or pinning.
2 lbs shrimp (peeled and deveined), 1/2 cup olive oil, 3 tbsp chopped garlic, 1/4 cup white wine, 1 tbsp red pepper flakes, 1 small chopped fresh tomato, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 2 tsp salt, 3 tbsp chopped parsley (I used flaked parsley). Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
