Summer’s hottest trends

The temperature outside may fluctuate, but summer’s fashion trends are still hot, hot, hot.  Moving into high summer every high street store worth its weight in clothes has updated their stock with the latest summer fashions and what a treat you are in for.  Now we just have to hope that summer returns with plenty of pleasant sun-filled days.  To get you in a summery mood here are some of high summer’s hottest trends.

Tropical print maxi dresses
Wallflowers best look away now, but bright, vibrant tropical print maxi dresses are one of the summer’s key trends.  All over patterns of big, bold flowers on black backgrounds define the maxi dress this season.  New Look has one maxi dress that is particularly divine: the Floral Print Slinky Maxi Dress (pictured), £24.99, is sophisticated and girlie, contemporary and timeless.  There are few dresses for £24.99 that can be described as such.

Colour ankle-grazer jeans
Not quite Capri pants, not quite regular length jeans, ankle-grazers show just the right amount of skin.  Combined with a eye-grabbing shade such as coral, mint, purple, strawberry or turquoise, coloured jeans are the must have leg wear of the summer.  Jessica Alba always nails this look, check her out here in her coral jeans, mint top and denim jacket.  Too cool for school is an understatement.

Denim hotpants
Festival fever is kicking in; it’s just a matter of weeks to go before Wireless, Reading and Leeds take over the UK.  Denim hotpants are the best way to stay cool and chilled but on fashion form.  Look for studding, strips, acid wash and Americana detailing.

Crop tops
The nineties are back and crop tops have returned with them.  From floral to gothic black crop tops are an absolute summer essential.  Pair yours with denim shorts, high waist skirts, low-rise jeans and maxi skirts.  Don’t be afraid to add lots of colour and work in clashing prints.  Just make sure you have a tight and toned stomach.

Hi-top wedge trainers
Trainers aren’t normally leg lengthening, but this summer they are.  With a built-in concealed wedge heel these trainers help to lengthen legs but still look trendy, street and relaxed.  These shoes look particularly good with shorts.
