Guess who turns 30 this year—Guess clothing! Guess is the brand I have lusted after ever since I was very young. I used to clip their magazine ads for all sorts of inspiration back in the day. I couldn’t resist those cool yet seductive black-and-white photos. These images are pretty much the culprit of my obsession for the brand. To this day, I still enjoy the line including shoes, bikinis, and of course the jeans. I’ll always appreciate the super-sexy feeling I get every time I slip into a pair of Guess jeans.
To mark the 30th anniversary, Guess has launched the new capsule collection, which debuted back on April 20. The highly anticipated collection is inspired by some of their iconic pieces over the last three decades—with a modern twist! Sweeeeeeet! Claudia Schiffer also returned for the new campaign as well. Remember the infamous black-and-white photo of Claudia in a corset? Any Guess ad featuring Claudia truly made me crave their clothing and had me dreaming of becoming a Guess girl (a girl can dream!).
Here are my absolute faves from the 30th Anniversary Collection. In my opinion, these are essentials every fashionista needs in her closet.
The first item is of course the Claudia Corset ($98)! Who could resist this lace bustier peeking under a blouse or jacket? Hello…sexy!
I’m always in the mood for leopard, so the Drew Long-Sleeve Top ($79) is my next pick. This blouse can easily go from casual to dressy, with jeans or a pencil skirt.
A modernized version of the ’80s 3 Zip Marilyn Jean ($128). Love the slim fit and the worn-in look. I’d pair them with the leopard top and the corset above in a heartbeat.
