The ultimate way for me to exercise would be hiking in the mountains or even at the local park trails while breathing in all the fresh air, but you know, the scorching weather is so cooperative lately. Walking in 100° weather is so much fun… yuck! In the summer with dreadful heat like this, it’s much easier to workout in the comfort of my own home. I don’t find the need to pay for a gym membership anymore when I can do just as an effective, efficient routine at home.
Mostly I do bodyweight exercises to tone up (I’m trying!) and sometimes with dumbbells. I’ve also started really enjoying using resistance bands ever since my shoulder injury. I fell in love with it during my physical therapy sessions. The band is easy to manipulate, control movements, super light, and portable (small enough to fit in my purse).
Here are a few of the items I want to have for a home workout including a new resistance band. I know that one of the places to check for affordable prices is ShopNBC (follow them on twitter for more deals & updates!). These three items totaled for under $80! You can find them under workout accessories. The band is like $9! With regular walks and a healthy diet (the hardest of them all!), these will keep me plenty busy & fit!
BTW, visit BodyRockin to see a ton of home workout routines… the girl has a smokin’ bod! Everytime I see her it makes me wanna workout even more. Got any good at-home workout tips? Please do tell!
