Spring break essentials

It’s barely in the 50’s here back east.  After going through the frigid winter months I’m totally ready for a tropical getaway this spring… like… right now!  Spring break is right around the corner, woohoo!!!  Although I’m no longer in college, the thought of spring break still excites me to no end.  Whether you are heading to a fancy beach front or a quick day picnic at the nearest lake, here are spring break essentials that I wouldn’t leave home without.  Of course, don’t forget to pack other goodies like shades, a light jacket or cardigan for chilly evenings, and a cool fedora.  And make sure to treat yourself with one or two Mojitos. Here we come beach parties!

Comfy floral dress – I prefer a tunic style mini dress.  Double as a lovely beach cover-up and a chic night dress with sexy heels.  I actually started to experiment a bit with floral patterns (not too bold though).  It’s the spring in me ready to burst!  ASOS, Delia’s, Forever 21 carry adorable floral dresses on a budget.
Peep toe booties – Wedge booties are not only comfy but super stylish particularly ones with tie laces.  Works for both day & night.  Lace up sandals like these offer more support than flip flops and are surprisingly comfy.  I tell ya, I’m really flip-flopped-out!  I refuse to wear unsightly, sloppy sandals!
Messenger bag – No-fuss, easy, light messenger bags come in so handy when you’re on the go because of the portability.
One shoulder bikini top/bottom – Single shoulder style swimsuits are hot in 2010.
Fragrance – Spring is perfect time for me to experience a new, fresh scent.  I’m really drawn to refreshing citrus fragrances this time of the year.  I love this new scent from Dior!
SPF lotion – Sun protection is a must, rain or shine!  And when it comes to tanning, the best way to go is fake bake with bronzers or tanning lotion.  Skin cancer is no joke.
