Michelle Obama’s Inspiring Style

I (and so many others…) had my eyes fixated on a new political fashion icon, Michelle Obama‘s wardrobe from her ceremony outfit to her inaugural ball gown.  One piece in particular that caught my attention was the dress she wore to the National Prayer Service at the National Cathedral the day after the inauguration.  Michelle looked absolutely smashing!

I was pleasantly surprised with her 50’s style dress… how refreshing was that look compared to the typical, rigid church attire!  I adore the Japanese garden prints, cheerful colors, and a feminine silhouette of the dress… even more lovely with a pair of flats.

This stunning dress was designed by Tracy Feith, a New York-based designer who has a collection launching at Target on May 17.  The dress is still in circulation for $720 at Feith’s Madison Avenue Store (212-334-3097).

In the mean time, here is one of my favorite vintage dresses.  I crave vintage fashion with unique prints such as this fun carousel & floral… so charming!  Looks fabulous with a pair of flats & a cardigan.

1. Modern Carousel Tunic $88.49 $117.99
2. Annie Karen Flats $44.90
3. Christin Michaels Leah Sweater $81.00 $90.00

Really looking forward to seeing all of Michelle Obama’s fashion frocks. I think she has great style! Hubby is not bad either :-)
That’s a very nice vintage dress you chose!
