Have a cup of this homemade Watermelon Sherbert… you’ll shiver in no time. Haha! It’s yummy and of course, COLD! You know it’s watermelon season right now so try to create this refreshing summer dessert which is really so easy to make. Yum, Yum!
Probably the simplest sherbert you can make! All you need is watermelon and simple syrup.
Seedless watermelon works the best… cut into cubes like this.
Blend the watermelons!
Filter out the juice.
Make simple syrup using 1 part sugar to 1.5 part water (since the watermelon is already sweet).
In a medium saucepan combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil,
stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool.
Stir in syrup… adjust the sweetness to your taste. Add a spoonful at a time!
Pour the juice up to about 2/3 in the freezer safe container. Cover and freeze about 3 hours.
Wow, what a pretty color!
Pull out of the freezer and give it a stir. Back in the freezer for a few hours until ready for scraping. Start scraping with spoon. Use your muscles!
Put in a bowl or cup as you scrape it. I highly recommend this dessert with much fewer calories
than ice cream & with an even cooler taste.
Add fruit toppings like berries, bananas, ice cream whatever you want…
I LOVE eating with frozen bananas.
Brrrrrrrrrrr! I’m cold!
So, are you ready for a delicious, bone chilling watermelon sherbert?
Enjoy and say goodbye to heat!
