My Top 10 Most Romantic Movies

Just in time for Valentine’s Day!  Here is my Top 10 romantic movies of all time.  Whether you are single or with someone, these classic chick flicks will make the perfect night for this Valentine’s Day and more nights to come.  And, did you know that guys like chick flicks too, of course they won’t admit it?  Haha!  Some of these films will be foreign to you…literally, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy them as much as I have.  Get some popcorn and your blanket ready and maybe even some red wine to share with your lover!

1. Love Story (1970)
Love means never having to say you’re sorry
This is a tear-jerking tragedy which is hands down one of the best romantic films of all time!  Just listening to the theme music makes me wanna cry and yes, I cry my eyes out everytime I watch it.  You’ll need a box of tissue for this one.

2. Roman Holiday (1953)
My #1 best romantic comedy ever. I saw this movie as a kid and remember how much I enjoyed it.  I felt as if I was that Princess played by legendary actress Audrey Hepburn.  A must-see!

3.  Anna Karenina (1997)
A tragic story of a love triangle relationship written by Leo Tolstoy – a masterpiece book by the way.  You’ll enjoy the lavish scenery of Russia where the entire film was shot.  You really get to appreciate the amazing acting talent and the breathtaking beauty of one Sophie Marceau.

4.  Romeo & Juliet (1968)
The best adaptation of Shakespeare’s famous Romeo and Juliet!  Filmed on location in Italy with amazing sets/costumes.  And such incredible actors – a gorgeous Olivia Hussey was only 15 when she gave this jaw dropping performance.  A very young & beautiful couple, a very romantic location and a very sad story.

5.  When Harry Met Sally (1989)
As Roger Ebert puts it `When Harry Met Sally. . .is a love story with a form as old as the movies and dialogue as new as this month’s issue of Vanity Fair.’  This film is witty, funny and you can’t help but love Meg Ryan’s sweet smile.  I love how their relationship blossomed over time!

6.  Gone With The Wind (1939)
Considered one of the most romantic films of all time.  You can watch over and over again…to fall in love once more!  This film is a true epic.

7.  How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003)
My favorite romantic comedy of modern day.  You just can’t get enough of sexy Matthew McConaughey.  This movie really cracks me up and you have to love how they both are trying to play the other!

8.  The Princess Bride (1987)
A romantic comedy fairy tale that is one of the greatest date rentals of all time.  This film is genuinely funny and makes you feel so good afterwards.

9.  Paradise (1982)
This movie is like Blue Lagoon but better in my opinion.  Paradise is a romantic adventure starring ever so beautiful Phoebe Cates featuring intimate scenery in an exotic Middle East location.  Phoebe also sings the OST for the movie which I also love.  A big 80’s fans movie.

10.  A Chinese Ghost Story (1987)
I Love this film so much (3 sequels).  A supernatural love affair where he falls in love with a beautiful ghost.  You’ll get a kick out of the great special effects from the 80’s Hong Kong cinema.  Sadly, they don’t make movies like this anymore.
